Update (Jan 10 – 7:06PM): Apparently, there are still issues surrounding devices accessing Hotmail via Exchange Active Sync. If you’re having problems it may be worth removing or disabling your current account and creating a new account that syncs via POP. Here’s a good place to get started.

If you’re using an mobile phone and syncing the device using Exchange, chances are you’ve been experiencing issues so this is likely the culprit. Check their status page again tonight after 11:20PM.
This error is based on how you access their service. If you’re just using the web interface or POP on your mobile device you should be okay.
